# Meta Data Center in Richland Parish: Power, Jobs & Housing

Meta’s planned Richland Parish data center is part of a North Louisiana growth story. Read the [Meta project update](https://datacenters.atmeta.com/2026/07/deepening-our-investment-in-richland-parish-louisiana/) for the company’s investment and jobs outlook.

## Power and the grid

Large campuses require generation, transmission, and reliability work. [Entergy’s LPSC-approved infrastructure update](https://www.entergy.com/news/entergy-louisiana-receives-lpsc-approval-for-major-infrastructure-investments-to-support-metas-data-center-and-improve-reliability) covers that work. [Entergy and Meta say](https://www.entergy.com/news/entergy-louisiana-announces-a-new-agreement-with-meta-that-will-deliver-an-additional-2b-in-customer-savings) Meta-funded generation/transmission will cover its cost of service and could support multi-billion-dollar customer savings over 20 years.

That’s what’s being said — we’ll see. Harlow is not promising lower rates or bills; readers can watch filings and real outcomes over time. New jobs may affect commutes, rentals, and housing demand statewide.

## A soft housing lens

We’ll track where people live and how communities change without promising outcomes.
